His 6-foot-10 son stood beside him in church on a picture-perfect Sunday morning. They bowed their heads and prayed together, not unlike many grateful fathers did with their wives, sons and daughters Sunday. What made this outing special was the distance his son traveled to be at Christ Baptist Church in Gary. Kenny Harris, a 19-year-old sophomore from Griffith, collapsed during a workout at the Valparaiso University athletic center weight room April 11. The prognosis was not good.
