(Leah Hogsten/The Salt Lake Tribune) Tiffany Stayer would love to play basketball or join the swim team, but doing so could endanger her life. The 14-year-old Bountiful ninth-grader might suddenly faint, have a seizure or even collapse and die if she overexerts herself. She suffers from Long QT syndrome, a genetic cardiac disorder of the electrical system of the heart, which makes patients susceptible to a fast, abnormal heart rhythm, or arrhythmia.
