Rick Cusick, of Lima, was asked years ago by a neighbor in Lima if he could launch his hot air balloon from Cusick's yard. "That was the start of it," Cusick said Sunday with a laugh. "I was hooked by the beauty. Then I started crewing and later I was invited to become a pilot."
